Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LeadGate.ng ("LeadGate.ng", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website at https://leadgate.ng or use our lead generation application. LeadGate.ng is a Nigerian software service that helps freelancers and agencies discover business prospects to pitch their services to. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your full name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and profile details you choose to add.
  • Google account information. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture from your Google account, together with a unique Google account identifier. We request only the openid, email, and profile scopes. We never request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service data.
  • Service usage data. The service you offer, the client types and locations you target, the leads you generate, your saved leads, credit balance, credit transactions, referral activity, and subscription history.
  • Payment records. Transaction references, amounts, currency, plan purchased, and payment status returned to us by our payment processor.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, timestamps, and error logs, which are collected automatically when you use the site.
  • Communications. Messages you send to our support address and delivery events for the emails we send you (delivered, opened, bounced).

2. How we use your information

  • To create and authenticate your account, including Google sign-in.
  • To generate, filter, save, and export business leads that match your targeting settings.
  • To track and deduct credits, apply subscription entitlements, and prevent abuse of free credits.
  • To process payments, activate plans, and issue receipts.
  • To send transactional email such as email confirmation, password reset, welcome messages, plan activation notices, and purchase receipts.
  • To operate the referral programme and award referral credits.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
  • To monitor performance, debug errors, secure the platform, and detect fraudulent activity.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations in Nigeria.

We rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a secure service, and our legal obligations as the bases for this processing.

3. Google user data and Limited Use

LeadGate.ng's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • Google account data is used only to create your account and sign you in.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade Google user data.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except our hosting and email providers strictly for operating the service, or where required by law.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, ad targeting, or profiling.
  • No humans read your Google user data except where you explicitly ask us to for support, where it is necessary for security purposes, or where the law requires it.

You can revoke LeadGate.ng's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

4. Business contact data in leads

The leads shown in the application are business listings — company names, business categories, locations, business phone numbers, business email addresses, and public websites. This is publicly available business contact information, not private personal data about consumers. If you are a business owner and want your listing removed from our database, email support@leadgate.ng and we will remove it. Users of LeadGate.ng are responsible for contacting businesses lawfully and respecting anti-spam rules.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run LeadGate.ng, and only to the extent needed:

  • Korapay — processes card and bank payments. Card details are entered on Korapay's systems and never reach our servers.
  • Supabase — database, authentication, and secure storage of your account and lead data.
  • Our email provider — delivers transactional messages from notify.leadgate.ng.
  • Google — only where you choose Google sign-in, to authenticate you.
  • Legal authorities — where we are required to disclose information by Nigerian law or valid legal process.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account remains open. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, saved leads, and targeting settings within 30 days. Payment and transaction records are retained for up to six years where tax and accounting law requires it. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

7. Deleting your account and data

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing support@leadgate.ng from the address registered to your account. We confirm and complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Deleting your account also removes any Google profile information we stored through Google sign-in.

8. Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme choice, and maintain your session securely. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the product. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but signing in will not work without the essential ones.

9. Data security

All traffic to LeadGate.ng is encrypted with HTTPS. Data is stored in access-controlled managed infrastructure protected by row-level security policies, so each account can only read its own records. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment credentials never touch our servers. No online system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.

10. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may store and process data on servers located outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply recognised safeguards and contractual protections for international data transfers.

11. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and comparable laws, you have the right to access a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and request your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@leadgate.ng. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

12. Children's privacy

LeadGate.ng is a business tool intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
